Glossary: Getting to Know the PAVE Teachers
I have been online teaching since 2006 and love it!
It has been so much fun getting to know PAVE students over the years.
Our school is a place that students move at their own pace, in their own space.
It allows for tons of creativity and independence!
I hope that you enjoy this freedom but are also willing to reach out for help when needed.
Let’s connect! Looking forward to the coming year.
Hi my name is Chris Watson and I teach High School Math, Physics, and Chemistry.
I am new to PAVE this year and am extremely excited about what it has to offer for student learning.
On my spare time I love spending time with my family, playing most sports and enjoy dabbling into a good board game now and then. I look forward to working with students on a 1 to 1 level to meet their needs on a daily basis.
My name is Heather Dunsworth and I have been teaching at PAVE since 2013.
I teach a variety of subjects that include high school Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, and a few option courses.I also teach Grade 5 Language Arts and Science.
PAVE is a great place to teach and learn in a flexible way! I love being able to work one-on-one with my students through phone calls, online meetings, and library visits.I also love our monthly get-togethers where we get to have fun and build our community at PAVE!

Hi there! My name is Nick Benoit and I teach Senior High English, CALM, some elementary courses, and some of the options courses as well. This is my fourth year with PAVE and I can honestly say that it is the best job I’ve ever had*. I live in Grande Prairie with my wife Beth, our daughter Ruby, and our dog London (whose sole purpose seems to be to disprove the belief that poodles are smart).
PAVE is a great place to work, but it is also a great place to be a student. We are very fortunate in that we are able to be more flexible than a traditional school, and for many of our students this is exactly what is needed.
Finally, I’d like to end with a bit of advice. It is important to try your best, but don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Learn from them. With the right amount of rigor, it is possible to fail forward!
*(A tie actually, I used to deliver pizza in a small town and that’s tough to beat!).
My name is Nicole French-Gillies and I have been teaching with Peace Wapiti School Division for over 10 years now. I have a lovely husband Kevin, two daughters, Victoria (20) and Sarah (18), and one very cute puppy named Abbie.
I believe in PAVE and all we stand for: flexibility, individualism, family and integrity. If you are a current student, I am so pleased to have you as part of our PAVE family. If you are a prospective student, please explore our school and let me know if you have any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
